Ingham County Airport is named under Capital City Airport. The airport was inaugurated in 1929 and was owned and operated By the State of Michigan and governed by the Michigan Aeronautics Commission until 1971. The Capital Region Airport Authority was created in 1970 pursuant to Act No. 73 of the Public Acts of Michigan. Then in 1971 the regional authority was created with the City of Lansing and Ingham County. The Authority is governed by a six-member Board of Directors. The Board consists of three voting members appointed by the Mayor of the City of Lansing and confirmed by the City Council, and three voting members appointed by the Ingham County Board of Commissioners.

The Capital City Airport works in conjunction with General & Corporate Aviation from AV Flight Lansing. The airport operates with nine terminals and is the gateway to the world through Seven Major Airports through the following airlines: Allegiant Air, Delta Airlines/Delta Connection, Northwest Airlines, and United/ United Express Airlines.AV Flight Lansing host FBO Services which include: 24-Hour Full Service FBO, Ramp/Tie Downs, Discounted On-Site Car Rentals, AVFuel Branded Dealer, Lavatory Service, Quick Turn Fueling, NATA Certified Line Technicians, Weather Planning Radar, Internet Terminal, and New Pilots Room (DVD and Surround Sound). Charter services include: NATA Certified Line Technicians, Quick Turn Fueling, Air Stairs, and Baggage Handling.
